Assessments, Milestones and Learning (3 hrs.)
First experiences have a very important effect on the future. Not all parents can
stay with their children, most must work. That’s why you are so important to the
baby’s growth and development. The growth of a baby’s brain is affected by
the care and experiences you provide. Skills such as taking a first step, smiling for the first time, and waving “bye bye” are called developmental milestones. Children reach milestones in how they play, learn, speak, act, and move (crawling, walking, etc.). This course introduces the ASQ tool to use when performing observations and screenings, Ages and Stages, is a screening tool done primarily by the parents. A child's typical progression of milestones are explored from birth to 5 years. http://www.asq.org
